Deen Coach Teacher Mode
Deen Coach Teacher Mode is a tool designed for mosques, Quranic schools and parents who accompany a child in the reading, revision and memorisation of the Noble Quran. It lets you organise a structured teaching session: prepare the passages to work on, listen to the student's recitation, mark each passage as validated or to be revisited, and keep a session history to follow progression over time. The reading chain followed remains the same as in the app: Ḥafṣ ʿan ʿĀṣim through the way (ṭarīq) of al-Shāṭibiyyah, without innovation or pedagogical drift. Teacher Mode remains free, ad-free and licence-free, in continuity with Deen Coach's founding principle: a sadaqah jāriyah at the service of Quranic transmission. This institutional page is intended for halaqāt leaders, teachers and parents who wish to understand how to integrate the tool into their teaching framework. Who is Teacher Mode for
Teacher Mode is not a consumer product: it is a pedagogical framework tool, intended for three complementary audiences.
Mosques running memorisation or reading halaqāt
Imāms, volunteer or paid teachers who run a weekly halaqah for adults or children, and who want a sober support to prepare the session, follow the revision and keep a written trace of the work done without resorting to loose paper sheets.
Quranic schools (madāris al-Qurʾān)
Educational structures that regularly host students of all ages on structured memorisation, tajwīd and revision programmes. Teacher Mode lets each teacher manage their own sessions with their students, without imposing a heavy central system to deploy.
Parents accompanying a child
A father or mother who revises one or two pages each evening with their child, who wants to follow the progression without relying on memory alone, and who wishes to document the still-fragile passages to revisit them the following week.
How it works
The flow stays deliberately simple: the teacher prepares a session, the student recites, the teacher validates or marks for review. Everything remains local on the teacher's device: no data is sent to an external server, and the student does not need a separate account to take part in the session.
Session preparation
The teacher opens Teacher Mode, creates a new session, gives it a title and adds the passages to work on: surah, starting ayah, ending ayah, type of work (memorisation, reading, revision, new learning). A session may contain several passages.
During the session
The student recites each passage. The teacher listens, can mark the passage as validated, needs review or skipped, and add a short written note (for example: "waqf to be reviewed", "tartīl too fast", "confusion on a madd"). The passage's status is updated live in the session.
Closing and storage
At the end of the session, the teacher closes it. The summary appears: number of validated passages, number to be reviewed, actual duration. The session is kept in the device's history and can be consulted at any time to prepare the next session.
Long-term student tracking
The session history forms a simple pedagogical journal, consultable session by session. The teacher can revisit passages still to be reviewed, identify recurring chapters that pose difficulty, and adapt the pace to the student's actual needs. No sophisticated aggregated dashboard: a readable journal, faithful to the work done.
Consultable history
Every closed session appears in the list: title, date, duration, number of passages, overall status. The teacher can filter by period or search by title.
Journal of passages needing review
Passages marked "needs review" remain visible from one session to the next, with the note written at the time of the recitation. The teacher can therefore pick up exactly where they left off in the previous session, without relying on memory alone.
Concrete use cases
Three scenarios representative of the daily life of users that Teacher Mode targets.
Weekly memorisation halaqah at the mosque
A teacher leads a halaqah of eight to ten memorising adults every Saturday. Before the session, he prepares the list of passages each participant must recite; during the session, he marks validations and passages to revisit the following week. At the end of the cycle, he has a faithful history that helps him guide the final revision.
A parent correcting their child in the evening
A parent revises half a page every evening with their nine-year-old son. Teacher Mode lets them calmly note recurring mistakes (a poorly articulated word, a forgotten ghunnah), mark the page as validated when the recitation is clean, and have a clear view of passages to revisit, without depending solely on the tired memory of a weekday evening.
Quranic school of thirty students
An association hosts thirty children spread over three levels. Each teacher uses Teacher Mode on their tablet for their own students: one journal per student, kept locally. The pedagogical team meets regularly and manually shares key observations (surahs regularly validated, weak tajwīd points), without automatic data transfer between devices, which preserves student confidentiality.
Get started in three steps
Teacher Mode is built into the Deen Coach app, with no separate download and no additional sign-up. Three steps are enough to use it within a halaqah or a family revision.
1. Install Deen Coach
Download the app on iOS from the App Store or on Android from Google Play through the site's Download page. No account is required to start.
2. Activate Teacher Mode
From the main screen, open the Teacher Mode section. The home screen displays ongoing sessions, the history, and the creation of a new session.
3. Create the first session
Give the session a title, choose a target duration, add one or several passages (surah, ayāt, type of work). The session is ready: all that remains is to listen to the student and mark statuses as the recitation progresses.
