New. “Fasting now” brings together today’s times and personal tracking, stored only on the device. The civil date now comes first, while the Hijri calendar remains available as an explained reference.

Improved. Feature search supports French, English, Arabic, and transliterated terms. Common fasting terms, with or without accents, open the right offline feature.

Improved. Existing optional fasting reminders now open today’s tracking. They do not alter notification settings or personal data.

Improved. The new welcome flow groups essential choices into four steps. Location and notification requests use the system dialogs directly and respect every refusal.

Fixed. Sharing from verse lists and several stability issues have been fixed, including on lower-end Android devices.

Deen Coach 1.2.0 prepares a new generation of home-screen widgets, fully offline and tracking-free.

New. The Daily Verse widget uses the same approved corpus and daily selection as the Dashboard. The Resume widget offers one relevant local activity from Quran reading, Hifz, or adhkar.

Improved. Deen Pulse now displays a time ring, a native countdown, the next prayer, and a five-prayer timeline. Compact, medium, and large layouts share the same local data source, with French, English, Arabic, RTL, light mode, and dark mode support.

Fixed. Cancelling legacy audio downloads is more reliable on slower Android devices and no longer reports a premature failure while native cleanup is still completing.

Stabilised. Qibla, pack downloads, daily reminders, startup, and French, English, and Arabic journeys include the fixes from the stabilisation campaign. The iOS microphone flow now respects the user's decision without a misleading pre-permission prompt.

Privacy. Widgets make no network request and contain no precise location, user identifier, or secret.

Incremental build v1.0.0 (build 9) delivering: a redesigned onboarding, 13 new regional prayer calculation methods, automatic version check, a "What's New" screen shown after each update, a new dedicated Accessibility menu with full respect for the system text-size setting, and careful polish of French typography across hadiths and Ḥiṣn al-Muslim invocations.

New - Redesigned onboarding. The first-run experience has been fully rewritten for a calm, sober start: a single welcome screen with four clear product promises, a primary-interest picker (prayer, Quran, learning, memorisation), strict opt-in on anonymised crash reporting (disabled by default), and an explicit five-state framing of notification permissions (not proposed, proposed deferred, granted, denied, permanently denied). No gamification, no silent collection.

New - Regional prayer calculation methods. The app now offers 18 calculation methods (up from 5), with 13 regional additions: Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Gulf, Turkey, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Portugal, Russia. The default method adapts automatically when the country changes, with an "Undo" SnackBar that makes the switch reversible. The Tehran ja'farite method is explicitly excluded, consistent with the Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jamāʿah methodology followed by the app.

New - Automatic update check. The app silently checks about three seconds after you open the dashboard whether a new version is available on the App Store or Google Play. When an update is detected, a non-intrusive bottom sheet offers two choices: "Later" (the sheet will not reappear for this version) or "Update" (opens the official store). In case of emergency (security or religious-content fix), a non-dismissable variant can be triggered server-side. The check respects offline mode (no error message) and uses a local six-hour cache to minimize traffic.

New - "What's New" screen after each update. On the first launch following an update, a full-screen view presents the major highlights of the installed version. Three to five key points are featured with an icon, short title and description. A secondary link goes to the full changelog at deencoach.app. The screen is trilingual (French, English, Arabic with RTL support) and never appears on the very first install.

Improved - Enriched "About" section. The Settings > About screen now shows your real version status: up to date, update available with a dedicated button, or just the local version if the check is silent (offline). Tapping the version line forces a fresh check.

Security & privacy. No user data is sent for the version check. No identifier, no tracking. Store URLs received from the server are filtered against an allow-list of official domains (testflight.apple.com, apps.apple.com, play.google.com) to prevent any redirect to a non-Apple or non-Google URL.

New - Dedicated Accessibility menu. A new `Settings > Accessibility` menu brings together all options to adapt the app to your reading and interaction needs. You can enlarge the interface text up to 150% via a dedicated slider, independently of the Arabic text size (Quran, adhkār, invocations) which keeps its own setting. The app now fully respects your device's text-size setting (iOS Settings > Display > Text Size; Android Settings > Display > Font Size), and both multipliers combine intelligently.

New - Comfort on large screens (iPhone 15/16 Pro Max). On screens 6.7" and above, the typographic baseline is automatically increased by 8% for more comfortable reading, without affecting your personal setting.

New - Reduce animations. A dedicated toggle lets you suppress or attenuate transitions and visual effects for users sensitive to motion, complementing the iOS/Android system setting.

New - Centralized Tajwīd patterns mode. The Tajwīd colour-blind toggle (distinctive patterns in addition to colours), previously in Quran display settings, is now directly accessible from the Accessibility menu.

New - Quran module UX overhaul (6 phases). The Quran module receives a complete ergonomics redesign. The "Resume" banner now shows up to 5 recent readings (Simple and Mushaf) stacked, with the explicit label "Resume Mushaf Surah X, page Y". Long-press on a verse (Simple or Mushaf) opens a contextual popover anchored to the verse with 9 actions: Detail, Read from here, Repeat this verse, Highlight, Add a note, Add to favourites, Copy, Share, Focus mode. Highlighting now offers 4 colour-blind-accessible colours (gold, sky, rose, sage) with distinct icons for VoiceOver and TalkBack. Personal verse notes are now persisted in the local database (previously volatile) with 3 indicator styles (dot, icon, border) in the appearance settings. A shared mini audio player between simple reading and Mushaf appears at the bottom when an audio pack is available, or offers to install one otherwise. The verse-detail sheet is enriched: "Your note" badge with Edit button, highlight-colour badge, and inline Tafsir Al-Mukhtasar when the pack is installed.

Improved - Note indicators in Mushaf mode. Verses with a personal note are now marked by a discreet indicator in the left margin of the verse line (rather than a halo spread across the whole verse). Three styles respect your preference (dot, icon, border with ayah number). A verse spanning multiple lines is marked only on its first line. If two annotated verses share a line, only one indicator is shown. A tap on the indicator opens the verse detail directly to read or edit the note.

Improved - Verse popover aligned with note state. The context menu now shows "Add a note" when no note exists for the verse, and "View note" (with direct opening of the CRUD edit dialog) when a note is already present. The icon and label clearly communicate the state before opening.

Improved - Mini player / full-screen player audio sync. When you listen to a surah in the background and navigate to another Mushaf page, the mini player now displays the surah actually playing (not the one of the visible page). Tapping the mini player opens the full-screen player already aligned with the surah currently playing, without interruption or restart. In background reading mode, the mini player's Previous / Next buttons navigate between surahs (not between ayahs as in per-verse reading). Natural end of a surah in "No repetition" mode: the mini player auto-hides.

Fixed - "Add a note" duplication in verse detail. The "Add a note" button at the bottom of the detail sheet now disappears when a note already exists for the verse - editing goes through the Edit button on the "Your note" badge at the top of the sheet. Less confusion, no risk of creating multiple notes per verse.

Fixed - OS mentions adapted to your device. App texts mentioning a screen reader (VoiceOver on iOS, TalkBack on Android) or other native services no longer display both platforms at once. An iOS user now sees only "VoiceOver" and an Android user only "TalkBack", for clearer communication tailored to your device.

Improved - Screen titles always readable on compact iPhone and compact Android. The Notifications and Accessibility screens now show their full name, untruncated. Secondary actions (mark all notifications as read, restore accessibility defaults) are now represented by an explicit icon with a tooltip readable by VoiceOver and TalkBack. Long-pressing the icon shows its full label. The Quran coach new-session creation screen now places the "Save" button at the bottom, more reachable by thumb, consistent with the rest of the app.

Accessibility. All menu controls are VoiceOver (iOS) and TalkBack (Android) compatible, with percentage-based voice announcements. Touch targets >= 48 dp, AA contrast validated. The new per-line note indicators in the Mushaf carry a localised semantic label ("Note on verse N") and an action hint ("Open verse detail"). Action icons (mark all as read, restore defaults) expose their full label to screen readers via a tooltip.

Improved - More precise scholarly attribution of Tafsir Al-Mukhtasar. Both Tafsir Al-Mukhtasar packs (Arabic and French) now display the full attribution matching the official source: edited by the Markaz Tafsīr li-l-Dirāsāt al-Qur'āniyya (Tafsir Center for Qur'anic Studies, Riyadh) through a scholarly committee of researchers, following the methodology of Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jamā'ah as understood by the Salaf, with lineage to the great classical tafsīrs (Ibn Kathīr, al-Sa'dī, al-Ṭabarī, al-Baghawī, al-Qurṭubī). The official website tafsircenter.net is now referenced in the pack description to allow direct verification by the user.

Improved - Smoother Quran mini-player transitions. When the audio identity of the mini player changes (surah change or switch between background reading and per-verse reading), the surah name AND the reciter name now transition together with a subtle crossfade. Before this improvement, the surah name faded smoothly while the reciter changed abruptly, creating a small visible asymmetry. The animation is now homogeneous.

Fixed - French typography polish on religious texts. A thorough linguistic audit fixed all missing accents across 22 user-visible hadiths (Arbaʿūn An-Nawawī #8, 9, 12, 13, 14, 16, 17, 19, 22, 23, 25, 28, 29, 31, 32, 33, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 41, 42, and Riyāḍ aṣ-Ṣāliḥīn #10, 11, 13) as well as one invocation in chapter 73 of Ḥiṣn al-Muslim (response to a sneeze). Full French vocalisation (é, è, ê, à, â, ô, ç, î, ï, û) is now present across all visible religious content. The original Arabic text is strictly unchanged; only French translations and annotations were affected. Embedded seed versions were bumped so corrections propagate to existing users without altering their bookmarks, notes or progress.

Improved - Consistent French vocative in Ḥiṣn al-Muslim invocations. Invocations featuring the French vocative have been harmonised with the correct circumflex ("Ô Allah", "Ô Vivant, ô Subsistant") to respect the solemnity of the call. This correction does not touch the original Arabic text, which remains the primary reference for recitation.

Fixed - Dark mode on loading indicators. Three screens (Quran coach, Ḥifẓ initialisation, contact form) showed a fixed white loading indicator that could be unreadable on certain theme combinations. The indicator now automatically adapts to the container button colour.

Improved - Visual consistency of the simple Quran reader. The simple reading screen now uses a warm parchment surface instead of pure white, in line with the app's global palette.

First public release of Deen Coach. A complete daily Islamic companion designed offline-first and privacy-first. All religious content has been validated following the Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jamā'ah methodology, and 4 pre-release audits were completed before production (religious content, UI/UX, architecture, French language).

Prayer and Qibla. The app computes prayer times locally for any location in the world, with 5 international calculation methods (MWL, ISNA, Egyptian, Umm al-Qurā, Karachi) and auto-detection of the recommended preset by country. Jamā'ah times (congregational prayer) are configurable per city or fixed offset, complementing the astronomical shar'ī times. A Qibla compass is available with 4 visual themes and real-time calibration via the device's magnetic sensors. Prayer notifications are configurable per ṣalāh, with adhān sound choice (Makkah, Madinah, silent, default) and pre-time offset. Daily tracking of the 5 prayers includes a consistency streak and weekly statistics. A monthly calendar displays all times with day-by-day synchronised scrolling.

Quran. The Mushaf Madani mode offers pixel-perfect rendering using the official KFGQPC fonts from the King Fahd Glorious Quran Printing Complex, identical to the Madinah printed edition. The simple reading mode shows translations, transliteration and tafsīr, downloadable as packs. A multi-reciter audio player is integrated with selective per-pack download. Users can bookmark verses and surahs with personal notes. Instant textual search covers all 6,236 verses, and Arabic voice search is available via speech recognition. A guided recitation coach offers 4 modes (free reading, word-by-word tracking, memorisation evaluation, articulated training), complemented by a professor mode to correct recitation errors in a supervised session. The surah index is organised by juz' with metadata (place of revelation, number of verses, theme). Coloured Tajwīd covers 26 recitation rules following the reading of Ḥafṣ 'an 'Āṣim through the way of al-Shāṭibiyyah, enabled in display settings, with a trilingual legend documenting scholarly references and a colour-blind-accessible palette. Users can choose between Uthmani (KFGQPC) and IndoPak (Nastaleeq) fonts for all Arabic content outside the Mushaf.

Sourced daily reminders. A corpus of 100 sourced Islamic reminders (Quran, authentic hadiths, words of scholars) is accessible offline. The dedicated hub offers Explore and My reminders tabs, a local search, and personal lists (Understood, Saved, To review, History). The reminder of the day is integrated into the dashboard with a customisable daily notification.

Adhkār and Ḥiṣn al-Muslim. Daily routines are complete: morning, evening, after prayer, before sleep, on waking, food, home, toilet, travel, anxiety and distress. Each invocation has a tactile counter with haptic vibration and daily progress tracking. The full Citadel of the Muslim (Ḥiṣn al-Muslim) by shaykh Saʿīd ibn ʿAlī ibn Wahf al-Qaḥṭānī is integrated with 267 canonical entries spread over 131 chapters, each accompanied by Arabic text, French translation, transliteration and authenticated reference. The 40 Rabbanas (Quranic invocations starting with "Rabbana") are available with audio from 3 downloadable reciters: Mishārī al-ʿAfāsī, Yāsir ad-Dūsarī and Abū Bakr ash-Shāṭirī. A free tasbīḥ counter completes the set with configurable targets (33, 100, 1,000).

Memorisation (Ḥifẓ). A memorisation dashboard allows tracking by surah and juz'. Guided sessions include micro evaluation (ayah by ayah) and macro evaluation (full passage). An error journal automatically identifies fragile āyāt and recommends targeted revisions. Revision plans are generated via spaced repetition (adaptive Leitner system). Passage selection is customisable by surah and ayah, with dedicated audio controls during sessions.

Training and learning. Seventeen progressive learning tracks are structured following the methodology of the Salaf aṣ-Ṣāliḥ, covering ʿaqīdah (foundations, Tawḥīd, pillars of faith), fiqh al-ʿibādāt (purification, prayer and its recitations, fasting of Ramaḍān, Zakāt al-Māl and Zakāt al-Fiṭr, full Ḥajj), akhlāq and the character of the Muslim, practical hadiths, daily adhkār, common mistakes to avoid, tajwīd at beginner and advanced levels, and a dedicated track for new converts. Each track includes lessons, multiple-choice exercises, and quiz validation. Recommendations are personalised based on declared level (new convert, beginner, intermediate, advanced) and learning history. An initial Quran diagnostic evaluates reading, pronunciation and memorisation level, and a religion diagnostic calibrates doctrinal recommendations. The skill map visualises overall progress. The app also includes an interactive Arabic alphabet with pronunciation, the 99 Names of Allāh following the rigorous compilation by shaykh Ibn ʿUthaymīn (Al-Qawāʿid al-Muthlā, 81 names from the Quran and 18 from the authenticated Sunnah) with a dedicated pedagogical section for the 26 names from the weak narration reported by at-Tirmidhī and explicitly flagged, and an Islamic glossary of 99 essential terms with sourced definitions.

Muslim tools. The Hijri calendar provides Gregorian/Hijri conversion and flags major annual Islamic events (Ramaḍān, 'Īd al-Fiṭr, 'Īd al-Aḍḥā, Hijri New Year, Laylat al-Qadr, first 10 days of Dhū al-Ḥijjah, 'Āshūrā', etc.). The Zakāt al-Māl calculator covers gold, silver, savings, investments and receivables, with automatic niṣāb detection based on the current rate. The Zakāt al-Fiṭr calculator offers automatic conversion to staple foods by country. A collection of additional du'ā' is organised by situation, and the 99 Names of Allāh index offers search and sharing.

Dashboard and daily experience. The personalised dashboard shows the next prayer, daily progress, streak, reminder of the day and shortcuts to most-viewed content. The "Continue" section automatically resumes reading, memorisation or learning track where the user left off. The "Discover" section offers daily suggestions of spiritual content. The global search bar covers all modules (surahs, hadiths, du'ā', lessons, tools), and the "All features" screen allows access to any module without going through the main navigation.

Downloadable content packs. The offline pack store is organised by category (Quran translations, tafsīr, audio recitations, du'ā' audio, hadiths). Download is selective per pack with granular progress tracking and resume after network interruption. Each downloaded file is verified with SHA-256 integrity check. Storage space is managed finely with size preview before download. Each pack carries full source attribution (author, edition, licence).

Hadiths. The app offers a collection of authentic hadiths with grades (ṣaḥīḥ, ḥasan, ḍa'īf) clearly indicated. Navigation is by collection (al-Bukhārī, Muslim, etc.), by chapter and by theme. Bookmarks and textual search are available. Each hadith carries rigorous source attribution including the narration chain, number, grade and authentication.

Personalisation and accessibility. The app offers a light and a dark theme with automatic system-based switching. Arabic font size is adjustable for Quran and adhkār. Three interface languages are available: French, English and Arabic (with full RTL support). Users can choose their default reciter, select the preferred translation and tafsīr pack, and configure their religious level and calculation method at any time. Notifications are enabled by category (prayer, morning adhkār, evening adhkār, Ḥifẓ revision, reminder of the day).

Tablet support (iPad and Android). On iPad and Android tablets from 600 dp wide, a NavigationRail replaces the bottom navigation bar of phone mode. Double-page Mushaf mode activates in landscape orientation on tablet, showing two pages side by side like an open printed muṣḥaf. Screens adapt with capped content width (hubs 1,040 px, reading 720 px, tools 640 px) to preserve reading comfort on large screens. Grids automatically adjust the number of columns based on available width. All 4 orientations are supported on iPad and Android tablets, with iPad Split View and Android multi-window compatibility.

Security and privacy. The app is 100% offline-first: all essential features (times, Qibla, Quran, adhkār, Ḥifẓ, learning) are available without internet once packs are downloaded. No usage data is collected: no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, no user profile sent to a server. All personal data (religious profile, prayer history, bookmarks, notes, Ḥifẓ progress) remains exclusively on the device. Google Drive cloud backup is disabled for religious data on Android. An anonymised crash report is available only opt-in via the onboarding screen, and users can refuse at any time. All network communications are HTTPS-encrypted; cleartext HTTP connections are blocked at the system level. System permissions are only requested when the feature is used (location for Qibla, microphone for voice search). A "Clear my data" function removes the entire local database in one click from settings.

Accessibility. WCAG AA contrast is respected on all text. Fonts are adjustable and respect the device system size. Full semantic labels are provided for screen readers (VoiceOver on iOS, TalkBack on Android). Touch zones respect the 48 by 48 dp minimum. State indicators combine text and colour, without exclusive dependence on colour.

Compatibility. The app is compatible with iPhone and iPad from iOS 14.0, and with Android smartphones and tablets from Android 7.0 (API 24), optimised for Android 14 to 16.
