Learning Islam according to the Salaf
Pillar dedicated to learning Islam step by step: tawḥīd first, then ʿibādāt, then muʿāmalāt, with akhlāq running throughout, following the pedagogy of Ahl al-Sunnah and the Salaf al-Ṣāliḥ.
The first words revealed to the Prophet ﷺ were: « Iqraʾ bi-smi rabbika alladhī khalaq » (« Read, in the name of your Lord who created ») — sūrat al-ʿAlaq (96:1-5). Islam opens with an order to read, to learn, to understand. This pillar gathers content dedicated to the progressive learning of the religion following the pedagogy transmitted from the Salaf al-Ṣāliḥ: begin with tawḥīd (the noblest science, on which the validity of all deeds depends), then approach the ʿibādāt (purification, prayer, zakāh, fasting, ḥajj), then the muʿāmalāt (transactions, social relations, family law), with akhlāq (character, adab) woven throughout as a constant thread. The articles draw on classical sources (kitāb al-ʿilm of Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, Madārij al-Sālikīn of Ibn al-Qayyim, the writings of Ibn Taymiyyah in Majmūʿ al-Fatāwā) and contemporary references (al-Mulakhkhaṣ al-Fiqhī by Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Fawzān, fatāwā by Shaykhs Ibn Bāz and Ibn ʿUthaymīn, publications of al-Lajnah al-Dāʾimah li-l-Buḥūth al-ʿIlmiyyah wa al-Iftāʾ). A sober, clear tone, without triumphalism or rigorist excess, with one guiding thread: anchor knowledge in action and action in sincerity (ikhlāṣ). The articles primarily target new Muslims, born Muslims who wish to revisit the basics with rigour, and parents educating their children. For any personal question beyond the editorial scope, explicit referral to a scholar or a qualified student of knowledge. Wa Allāhu aʿlam.
