Deen Coach 1.2.3: what changes
By the Deen Coach teamPublished on 2 min read
Deen Coach version 1.2.3 has been on the App Store since October 23, 2026, and is available on Google Play. The update is not required: the version you use keeps working.
Prayer
- New: at prayer time, the reminder plays the opening of the adhan you chose among the 13 recordings of the muezzins pack, when notifications are allowed. Your phone may delay its delivery.
- New: five voices join the pack: Al-Minshawi and Mustafa Ismail from Egypt, Anuar Duman from Turkey, and muezzins from Morocco and Algeria. A single download installs the whole pack, and the full adhan remains available for preview.
- Fixed: the sound chosen for Fajr now applies to Fajr.
- Fixed: a prayer whose time is still running is no longer shown as past. Each row follows the real end of its prayer time, home screen widgets included; for 'Isha, the screen shows the time of choice until the middle of the night.
- New: you choose the time format, System, 12-hour or 24-hour. It applies to prayer times, iqama entry, reminders and widgets; with no saved choice, the display follows your phone.
- Improved: your confirmed prayer location only changes with your consent, and a new location suggestion relies on several consistent GPS readings. If you set up your profile without a network, your country and then your city are completed once a reliable name is known, never replacing what you entered.
- Improved: prayer names are spelled the same way everywhere, and search finds them even when typed without marks, such as “isha” or “jumuah.”
Zakat
- Improved: by default, cash, savings and investments are compared with the lower of the two thresholds, gold or silver, following the view of Ibn Baz.
- Improved: debts are no longer subtracted by default, following Ibn Baz, Ibn 'Uthaymin and the Permanent Committee; the view that subtracts them remains available as an option. Each new saved calculation shows in the history the view followed on debts.
Reminders and Quran
- Improved: the reminder of the day reads in order: the quoted text and its source, the explanation, then the practical advice. Quranic text and hadith are named as such, and an excerpt shows where it was cut.
- Improved: reminder diagnostics are clearer.
- Improved: downloads, voice search and the Quran player work better.
- Fixed: issues affecting exercises, reading progress and profile preferences.
Across the app
- Improved: navigation, translations and accessibility.
