Deen Coach 1.2.0: Android available, iOS rollout underway

By Équipe Deen CoachPublished on Updated on 8 min read

Update, July 29, 2026. Deen Coach is now available on both the App Store and Google Play. Version 1.2.1 is public on iOS, while its Android update remains under review. Read the current announcement.

Stable version Deen Coach 1.2.0 (build 13) is now available on Google Play. Android users can install it today or update their existing app from the official listing. The same version is currently rolling out for iPhone and iPad. We will update the website as soon as the App Store rollout is complete.

We are communicating this staged release openly because each store has its own processing and review steps. Their timelines can differ. Claiming simultaneous availability before it is real would only create confusion. The Download page therefore shows the current status of each platform without promising a date that we do not control.

A release focused on quick access and reliability

Version 1.2.0 is not about adding visual effects for their own sake. It improves how Deen Coach supports everyday use: checking the next prayer, resuming a reading, seeing the daily verse, and reaching useful information without opening several screens.

That approach shaped the new widgets as well as the work on stability, accessibility, and privacy. Data continues to be processed locally whenever possible. No advertising system or behavioural tracking tool has been added.

Deen Pulse puts the next prayer first

The prayer widgets have been redesigned around one primary piece of information: the next prayer. The compact format shows its name, time, a live countdown, and a progress ring that places the current moment between two prayers. The medium format adds a timeline of the five daily prayers.

The goal is immediate understanding, without visual clutter or ambiguous icons. Past prayers, the next prayer, and upcoming times have distinct states. When local prayer tracking is used, the widget can also reflect prayers marked as completed.

The app prepares this information and shares it with the native widgets. The widgets do not make network requests to calculate prayer times and do not transmit location data. If the snapshot becomes too old, they simply invite the user to open Deen Coach to refresh it.

The Daily Verse stays available offline

A new widget brings the daily verse to the home screen. It uses the same daily selection as the app dashboard, so users do not see two different verses on the same day.

The content is prepared in the selected language and remains available offline. Depending on the widget size and language, the layout prioritises the reference, a concise translation, or the Arabic text. Tapping the widget opens the corresponding verse in Deen Coach.

The corpus used by this feature is part of the reviewed content bundled with the project. Version 1.2.0 does not fetch a random verse from an external service and does not require a daily connection.

Resume without searching

The Resume widget offers one relevant activity among those already started: Quran reading, memorisation, or adhkar. It does not display an endless feed or a list of recommendations. One suggestion is shown with a title, context, and a single action to continue.

The selection uses local information such as the recency of a reading or progress that has already begun. This information never leaves the device. It is used only to make the shortcut more useful at the moment it appears.

More robust downloads and local storage

Deen Coach is designed to work offline, which requires careful handling of downloaded content and data stored on the device. This release strengthens pack controls, verification stages, and recovery mechanisms. Remote content remains subject to the app's integrity checks.

Stability work also covers concurrent access to the local database and the cancellation of background downloads. These changes are intended for modest devices as well as phones that have been used daily for months. An offline-first app must remain reliable as data grows, not only on its first launch.

A clearer and more accessible experience

Key surfaces continue to be checked in French, English, and Arabic, including right-to-left layouts. Larger text, dark mode, reduced motion, and labels for screen readers are part of the same effort.

Version 1.2.0 also improves Qibla reliability and its diagnostics. The app distinguishes more clearly between an unavailable sensor, an unstable reading, and a compass that should be recalibrated. It keeps its offline-first principle: the compass does not depend on Wi-Fi or mobile data to display a direction that can already be calculated from a known location.

Privacy with no hidden trade-off

Deen Coach remains free, ad-free, and tracking-free. The widgets do not create an account and do not send usage events. Prayer times, the displayed city, recent reading, and other useful information are stored locally in a format limited to what the widgets strictly need.

Sensitive permissions are requested only when a feature needs them. The microphone is used for the recitation coach and voice search. Location is used for features such as prayer times and Qibla. Refusing a permission never triggers replacement data collection or indirect tracking.

Install the Android release

To install or update Deen Coach 1.2.0 on Android:

  1. open the official Google Play listing;
  2. confirm that the publisher and app name match Deen Coach;
  3. tap Install or Update;
  4. open the app after installation finishes.

Existing local data should be preserved during a normal Google Play update. As with any important app, avoid uninstalling the previous version if you want to keep data stored on the device.

What about iPhone and iPad?

Stable version 1.2.0 is currently moving through the iOS publication process. The official Deen Coach listing remains available on the App Store, but we will not present the new release as available until its rollout has actually completed.

We are not publishing an estimated date because this stage depends on store processing. The status on the Download page will be updated as soon as the stable version is genuinely available to iPhone and iPad users.

Your feedback still matters

A stable release does not mean the work stops. Differences in sensors, screen sizes, system versions, and network conditions can reveal situations that are difficult to reproduce in a test environment. If you encounter a problem, include the device model, system version, selected language, and the steps that reproduce it.

You can read the complete release notes or contact us through the Support page. Every actionable report helps make Deen Coach more reliable for everyone.

Thank you to everyone who tests, reports an issue, suggests an improvement, or shares the app. The Android release is available now. The iOS rollout continues with the same commitment to clarity, stability, and privacy.
